We are looking back and reflecting on the last year’s development of Intelligence2day®, as 2021 was an exciting year for us with many new features. This was also the first year of developing the new SaaS platform first, and the new functionality was released bi-weekly as micro-updates which are deployed in the background, with no downtime or otherwise affecting users of Intelligence2day®. Enterprise customers have received many of the new features and all security updates in the standard quarterly releases.
Our product development is always focused on the four core solution areas of Intelligence2day®:
Each solution is a part of the complete platform. On our website, you can read more about the features and functions of each solution.
Here are a few highlights of what was developed last year. Of course, there are many more improvements and bug fixes – you can read more about them in the Change log on our help site.
The Benchmark feature was graphically improved with new filtering options for Overview, Columns and Rows. You can now hide specific columns or rows to only compare data of interest. We added export for Word, Excel and PDF options to the Benchmark as well.
The Field Intelligence Receiver, (FIRE), can help structure any visual intelligence whether it is technical documents, marketing, sales, trade shows, flyers, or more. Monitoring operations that usually take weeks can now be processed in real-time, providing instant access to intelligence insights. Intelligent Optical Recognition technologies (IOCR) are used to understand the information within an image and turn it into searchable texts. Together with AI, Intelligence2day®’'s FIRE feature can not only transfer images into searchable text, but also analyze and understand the content of the image so that it is easy for a user to find. The sophisticated AI technology allows for even blurry images to be processed.
Just take a photo with your smartphone, or upload screenshots/images using your device or PC, into Intelligence2day®.
The attached image will be scanned and the captured data is turned into text. The text is classified through the topic taxonomy and matching AI topics are added. After publishing, the retrieved content will be searchable in Intelligence2day®.
The new Flags can be used to flag content, e.g. for SWOT analysis or other processing tags. Flags are visualized in search results and Content Channels on Dashboards, and it is an easy way to see if an article is flagged. For example: Impact - High, SWOT - Opportunity.
User Hashtags were added for cross-referencing of content and to easily provide metadata to articles that can help other users find content of similar interests and enable more sorting and grouping in alerts and search based features. Users with commenting rights can add Hashtags on articles.
Media monitoring was perhaps the most improved area during the year. Alerts received new Templates with an updated look and feel, as well as two new delivery options; excluding weekends and an every six hours schedule. We also added Usage Graph Tracking of Click Through Rate (CTR) for Suggested Alerts to be able to better measure how they are used within your organization.
Intelligence2day® now comes bundled with content providing industry related business news to all SaaS customers. News articles are automatically classified with AI into IPTC Media Topics and all content is analyzed with AI entity recognition and automatically tagged on Persons, Organizations and Locations.
We have also focused on optimizing the system's performance, using some new technologies and code optimizations. We achieved major performance improvements such as loading dashboards (15x faster), presenting search results (4x faster), publishing content (5x faster) and topic classification (2x faster). Of course, these are the best cases found, but they are all real values measured on production systems.
To minimize the risk of having end-users classify email alerts as SPAM, we added an easier way for users to unsubscribe to Alerts without logging in. We Improved the Monthly summary email, with a new look and feel, as well as more data points for a better KPI comparison.
We developed a Slack integration that enables our users to harvest the insights generated within Slack by pushing them into Intelligence2day® for further analysis and enrichment. Push your messages into Intelligence2day® to get them organized and structured according to your corporate taxonomy. The Slack message will be published as an article in Intelligence2day® with images and links as attachments.
And as always, we provided quite a few new features for our Administrators to make it easier to manage large systems with many users and big content volumes. For example, there is now a duplication check when adding new feeds to the system and Administrators can manage multiple topics at the same time. .
To meet higher demands on processing feeds and articles we have deployed a new NoSQL database technology. We also added new processes for consuming and classifying data feeds more efficiently, and the system now scales more than ever.
